Rescued a pitbull, and I am in loveee :)

So i'm a dogwalker, and one of my clients is Mighty Mutts, a no kill shelter here in NYC. I walked a dog in their care named Pedro, a 2 1/2 year old pitbull who had some medical problems. He had mange, allergies, and some skin conditions. Long story short, after 2 years in the shelter, Pedro stopped eating. The vet said medically nothing was wrong, he was just in pain and in a crate 23 hours a day and lost the will to live. He was given a 30 day time frame to get adopted, or he'd face being put down. Naturally this broke my heart, and I started making some calls. Turns out there is a whole community of people who care about Pedro, and with the help of some unlikely people (like chef Rachael Ray!) I was able to adopt this dog free of charge, and with a contract stating that his medical bills will be paid for as long as I am providing him a loving home. I am beyond ecstatic and had to share! Without the financial burden to me, I am more than willing to administer this dogs medication and provide it with the nurturing environment it needs to heal. So without further adieu, here's pedro!! ^ My pleasure I've had him only 5 days and the bond I have with him is crazy. He's given me more in feeling rewarded than I'll probably give him his whole life. He is already eating dog food again and has even started playing the last couple days!!

That's excellent. If I could adopt all the mistreated, abandoned, and sick animals everywhere ever, I would. It breaks my heart to see animals suffering.

It's not the dog poop that I'd be worried about. I think snake poop is the worst haha

Amazing story. I rescued my pit from a crack house. He was near dead when I took him. After a few weeks of bottle feeding he was healthy as could be. Best dog I've ever had. Thank you for saving another

i rescued my dog from a house full of drunk mexicans that used to abuse her and then lock her outside in cold weather all night... one day i took her knocked on their door and said just so you know, i took *my* dog now and you will never see her again and then walked away, still have her today she was only 5 months old she is now 6 years best dog I've ever had, but shes got the worst attitude like her mommy :-D

Thanks guys. He ate today out of his bowl instead of his kong toy which is progress! He's really great. Currently laying in a suitcase :/ I think the time he spent in the cat shelter is giving him feline tendencies. lol

Congratulations to both you and Pedro. Sounds like it was the perfect match. Thank you for adopting.
