They are very hardy and have a tough stem once they put on some size. Three are currently surviving in my retic cage.. Giant Golden Pothos is a species, it's a strong climbing variety. The leaves can get huge, you'll need to trim it from time to time.. They will dig up just about anything, any plant rooted in the soil I would keep in a ceramic pot or something, cover the top so he can't dig into it, and bury the whole thing. That way, the roots are protected.
