Ive wanted to do a herp charity for a while, likely to USARK. But i have to face it, Im not a good runner so marathons are out of the question, and soliciting people for pointless money makes me feel guilty.
Well i finally found my calling. A number of my friends have been doing 24 hour gaming charities for childrens hospitals, and i am a big fan of that idea. It works like a marathon, people pledge a minimum of 10 cente per hour, and then the player sets up an online livestream for people to track the progress. For every hour, the player recieves a bit o' charity! After the 24 hours, if the goal is not reached, the gamer goes into "final countdown" where they offer five more hours for double pledge (thats if they reached their 24 hour goal).
Would anyone be interested if i decided to do this? I plan to set it up during winter break, and my tiny body will hopefully react violently to caffine! I barely drink the stuff after all!
Im still working out the kinks. Im not here to scam anyone, and i want to be sure all the money goes exactly where it's supposed to. Ive spent eneogh time in the Fauna Classifieds to be paranoid of scammers! I also need to figure out how to set up a working livestream as well. If you have any suggestions, objections, or support, please comment!
