Little bugs question...

I was changing the water and misting my baby BRB's tube and i noticed little tiny bugs on the poop. I looked all over and could not see them anywhere else. She eats fine and is active, that is if i take her out or sneak in at night, but Ive seen it twice now when she goes to the bathroom... I don't think its mites because both times when i noticed i take her out and see if there are any on her or that get onto my hand and there aren't. I also check the water and there are no little bugs in there. Could these just be bugs that get into the cage through the little air holes? I also wonder if they could be bugs that live in the repti bark that i bought. I have had snakes with mites before and it was really easy to tell. If need be i have some prevent-a-mite just to be safe. I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this?

Thanks for the help...

Re: Little bugs question...

I'm sorry I should have but I just cleaned out the poop so I didn't get a picture... Not sure if I could anyway since they were so small. I will keep an eye out and get a picture if I can next time she goes to the bathroom.

Re: Little bugs question...

What color are they?

White or brown= good, keep them in there.

Black= bad, treat to get rid of them.

Re: Little bugs question...

Springtails. They are part of a healthy mini eco-system. They will feast on the poop and help keep enclosure maintanance to a minimum. This is called bio-active.
