Nemo - the 2g Reverse Okeetee

Meet Nemo. This lovely little girl is the result of a friend handing me a few non-feeders to get sorted out, and my partner's inability to give up on even the tiniest little hatchling. I had her marked off to be freezer fodder, or a kingsnake snack. I never expected her to make it through the night, let alone be one of the first of the non-feeders to eat on her own. (Please pardon some of the cell phone pics)

This is after her first shed, and first meal; a halved pinky head.

She weighed in at 2g. Her clutchmates weighed in at 5g and 6g. You can see the body of one in the upper right corner.

Now here she is after meal number two. A mouse tail!

This little incident reminded me that everything needs a chance at life. I hope she continues to thrive. Thanks for looking!

It is so interesting how small some of them start out as. When I got my corn he weighed in at 4 grams. Now he is well over 250grams. I love the little ones, this makes me want more.

Just wait until you buy your first rack! Filling it is so much fun! And then comes the next rack... and the next one...

Cute lil bugger. Are you planning on keeping her yourself or will you give her back to your buddy to sell once she is bigger and "out of the woods"?

No, she's here to stay. Although there are a few more clutchmates that'll be available a bit later on.
