Hello everyone :-)
I am new to snake forums. I just caught a spilotes pullatus a few days ago and was wondering what type of enclosure to make for it and stumbled onto this site. Nice to see so many people like snakes, down here everyone kills them.

Hello and welcome to the forum. Why don't you release the wild caught and get a captive breed?

Probably because Belize only has a total population of about 333,200 people, so pet shops and breeders are likely not an option

Re: Hello everyone :-)
sorry I took so long to respond. The one I caught is about 4 feet long. Yes infernalis is right there are only two pet shops in the country and closest is 78 miles away, which takes 2.5 hours to get to one way due to the roads being terrible. The people here view snakes and people who arent afraid of them as being evil. Not kidding! Snakes are not in any of the pet shops much less a breeding program of any specie. Thank you for your suggestion gungirl unfortunately not an option here. I was a member of the C.F.H.S. in Florida and have always loved snakes. Will let you guys know what else I catch. I will release almost all that I get somewhere safe but will keep drymarchon corais melanuris, and spilotes pullatus for possible breeding. They are the only two I truely love down here. My spelling might be wrong but im rusty.
