Here I am again...

I decided not to get the CRB from craigslist, and said I would wait to get another snake,

BUT

the pet store where I got my Milk just posted pictures of their new animals for sale on their FB page...

$150, few months old, and they have 3 to choose from.

I'm going to look at them first thing in the morning. I can't buy one until the beginning of April, so I'll have to see if they'll even hold one for me because I bet they're gonna go pretty fast.

I know I'm really bad... but this is too good to be true!

Re: Here I am again...

is that bad? Is it a disease the other 2 could have?

Re: Here I am again...

It could be either genetic or a result of poor husbandry. Either not enough food or dehydration IIRC.

Re: Here I am again...

If it's genetic, it doesn't bother me. But I don't want the snake to be sick and die

Re: Here I am again...

Yes you could fix it, but if its something like a parasite that's causing them to not get the nutrients they need it could be impossible to help them. Are you in Cali? (based on your "hippiland" location)

Yes I am.

How would I know if it's a parasite?

Re: Here I am again...

vet tests, I would honestly just find a reputable breeder in your area and see what they've got available. Price is going to be quite a bit less than the pet store too.

How do I find a reputable breeder? I don't really know how to look.

Rainbows-R-Us

I just ordered a BRB from Dave... AMAZING animals, from a great breeder.

Edit: I see you already got him. That's what I get for not reading the whole thread!

Well I have him on hold. But I haven't paid or anything yet. They just got them yesterday, so they want to keep them for a couple weeks first to make sure they're healthy and eating well.

I trust these guys, they have a good reputation around here and I know they care about their animals. But I still have time to back out if I find something wrong. I'm gonna be doing a lot of research before I take him home

Re: Here I am again...

find shows and find a local (or even nationwide) FB herp group and ask around. I hate going to pet stores for pets unless their specialty stores.

Mine has big eyes like that and he perfectly health. As he has gotten bigger over the last couple years he grown into them. Here's a picture of him when he was about a year old.

Here's one from last summer.
