Heat pad question
I am going to be shipping one of my snakes soon and I would like a recommendation for a good non toxic heat pad that I can stick to the inside lid of the box.
I have a card board box that has styro foam insulation and is vented (saved box from snakes that were sent to me). It has more than enough room inside for him to move around in a bag and not come into direct contact with the heat pad unless someone puts the box upside down..(it has arrows all over it for this side up).
The temps where I am are in the 60's during the day and 30's at night so I am thinking a 8-10 hour heat pad for overnight should be good?

Re: Heat pad question
If you can get your hands on it, I recommend UniHeat

Re: Heat pad question
Cool thanks!! I kinda just want it for the night though. I think 40+ hours might be a bit much?

Re: Heat pad question
Nah, they'll take it out when it arrives, so it'll only be in there with the snake as long as it needs it. It can last up to 40hrs, doesn't mean you need to have it in there for 40hrs. If the box gets lost or fails to be delivered, at least you know the snake won't be cold. It's a matter of "better safe than sorry." You activate it right before you mail the box. I'm pretty sure it's the brand that ShipYourReptiles.com uses too.

Re: Heat pad question
Yup, those also work. All the same brand. Usually shippers use the one I posted because if the box fails to get delivered and has to sit for a few more hours, you know it'll be warm. But yes, the UniHeat brand is really good.
