Calling the exterminator... any precautions I should take?

So, we will be having the exterminator come in next week to spray to take care of some bug problems we've been having (oh, the joys of living in the south). I asked the woman about how safe the pesticides were and she said they are pet safe, but turtles may be more sensitive (which makes sense).

Anyway, does anyone know of any particular chemicals that may be labelled as pet safe but not for snakes?

IMO I would relocate or completely seal off the area the snakes are in. I wouldn't take any chances.

I totaly agree. The stuff that kills mites or fleas or headlice can kill your snakes or cause nervous system damage so best to foster them out to a friend for a couple days if you can.

Snakes, rodents, arachnids, and feeder inverts are considered "pests". These chemicals are not safe for them. You will have to relocate them for up to 48 hours. When a chemical says "pet safe", they are referring to dogs and cats.

^ This!! They dont test these for anything except cats/dogs, which is what is considered "pet safe" obviously, snakes are completely different.

That's what I figured. I shouldn't have any problem relocating them for a few days.

If you have any frogs, you'll want to relocate them for a bit longer. Seven to fourteen days is the recommended amount.
