Helix temp probe question

So I found a great Kijiji deal.
Vision 3x2x18" viv with 40 watt heat panel, uth , Helix dbs1000, 5 pvc hides, bag of 20 med rats, bag of reptibark and a couple water dishes. Talked him down to $150 for all
BUT
The temp prob on the helix is shot. My question is do I need to get one from them or can I rig something else. I have a couple exoterra digital temp gauges I would be willing to chop into if that would work or are these probes specific?

Re: Helix temp probe question

ok so after a little more checking I realize now it is a multi wire connection and not a 2 wire connection.

So what I need is a replacement that is cheaper and/or Canadian to avoid shipping/duty ect.

Anyone?

Re: Helix temp probe question

Sounds like you got one heck of a deal. Don't have an answer for ya though.

Re: Helix temp probe question

your best bet will be to get one from helix i dont think they are that much for just the probe, might call them and see if there is a place in Canada that sells them.
