Re: Sasha - right now
WOW shes gorgeous, really beautiful (the mad Scotsman is now green with envy)
I have a question about the size of her viv, I was told that even full grown Royals only need a viv about 3ftx2ftx2ft because being in large open spaces stresses them and they dont like it. Was I misinformed ?

I don't know. Sasha's enclosure is 4 tall 3 long 2 wide/deep and she uses every inch. But I also have a lot of cover for her too. She can burrow all over the bottom plus there are 2 porthos in her viv.

Re: Sasha - right now
The general feeling in the UK is that BP need a 4ft long by 2ft wide by 18inch tall viv as an adult, and in fact i put my baby BP into that size viv straight away. I do provide LOTS of hiding places for him and he can easily get from hot end to cold end without being in view.

Re: Sasha - right now
I dont keep royals but i know they can get over 4ft long and obviously they're little fatties so id say a 3ft may be a little tight.. all depends how big yours grows as they vary in lengh a little.

Re: Sasha - right now
Thanks Rob and Kat. I thought the 3ft was a bit on the small side, but being a begginer I couldn't argue the point. 4ft its gonna be then, tho thats gonna have to be next year sometime, Santa always leaves me short of cash lol

It also of course prompts a question. How much of this behavior is normal curiosity, exercise, leisure, etc., and when do you start to have concerns around "Stargazing?"

Re: Sasha - right now
@strutter- .... As far as I know "stargazing" is more where they are looking up for long periods in an unusual position or for prolonged periods... Not so much a worry in this behaviour during a long, well planned escape attempt
This is in no way meant to sound condescending, just my thoughts.
