Boas: het albino on het snow

Hey I am looking at trading my atb for for a female bci 66% het snow. I currently have a male bci het albino. Percentages aside what would I get if I breed a het albino with a het snow?

Re: Boas: het albino on het snow

if they're both pos hets wouldnt you get normals who carry 2 het genes? unless they each have the same het gene and then wont you get half normals and half whatever the het is provided the hets are actually hets?

and then in the second generation you would get visual snows or whatever with a het Albino

I'm so clueless

Re: Boas: het albino on het snow

So am I.if something is hey snow wouldn't it also be het albino? I really couldn't care less exactly what they are but I was thinking albino is possible. I really assume the are regular Boas. Just can't trust those that sell hets. or maybe its better to say I won't get my hope set on them being het.

Re: Boas: het albino on het snow

Visually they should all be normals with het x%% x%% etc as far as I see it since they're both hets

Re: Boas: het albino on het snow

^^ yea but I think if you have 2 proven hets of the same gene you get 1/4 of that gene

Re: Boas: het albino on het snow

Yes but isn't a snow boa a morph on albino? Like an albino with no yellow?

Founds some stuff....

about snow boas

Genetics: Color mutation - simple recessive.
A snow boas is a double simple recessive (Albino & Anery)
Source.

Maybe that helps a bit I know hardly anything about boas btw, just my googling

Re: Boas: het albino on het snow

snow is, as alessia pointed out, het albino and het anery, its labeled het snow because its easier and breeders make assumptions about the people looking to buy them.
when crossing a 100% het albino with a 66% het snow you won't get any snows, and there's a 66% chance that you'll get some albinos. I personally hate dealing with possible hets because you can get screwed, but its something breeders have to deal with because it results in the fastest way back to the desired crossing. (more on that next post)
I also don't think its 66%. Its a double recessive possible het, you get that with het x het, so a het snow x het snow will get you (of the normal appearing snakes) 1/16 normal, 2/16 het albino, 2/16 het anery, and 4/16 het snow, so that's 4/9 or 44% chance het snow.

thanks, I'm getting better the more I read, Stephan is helping a ton and there are still some people out there that are WAY better than me and I still get it wrong some times. I use a genetic calculator to help as well, some people can do it in their head.

Re: Boas: het albino on het snow

to get visible snows this is the fastest way to do it. The numbers in parenthesis () represent the chance that you'll get that outcome. 4/16 is a 25% chance that you'll get that morph.
albino x anery = 100% het snow (16/16)
het snow x het snow = 44% chance het snows (9/16), 66% chance albino het anery (3/16), 66% chance anery het albino (3/16), snow (1/16)
