Re: DIY enclosure help

You could invest in a Ceramic Heat Emitter. : ]

Re: DIY enclosure help

it is for a jungle carpet python and from everything i have read so far it is better to have a uth but id much rather have a ceramic and heat lamp rather than uth

Re: DIY enclosure help

a secured (both in place and from the snake) ceramic heat emitter or radiant heat panel is probably going to be better for the semi-arboreal JCP. They'll both be better and easier to work with for a wooden enclosure, you could make a UTH work but it'll take quite a bit more work.

Re: DIY enclosure help

I think Shauny (carpet guy around here) uses CHEs for his morelia.

CHEs for the snake and a bulb for the BD (I keep both species by the way)

How tall is the cabinet?

Re: DIY enclosure help

The display case is a 4ft wide x 4ft tall x 8ft long but will be divided in half fir beardie and jcp. How would I be able to secure the che and heatlamps so the snake won't curl up on them and get burned or worse?

Re: DIY enclosure help

Hang them from the roof of the viv and use a PROPER guard for it - all 7 of my snakes have them in their vivs and none have access to the bulbs
