Post where is the crack cat

So the story starts out about 2 weeks ago when my four year old let our ferret outside on the coldest night of the year. So the high lights are he apologizes for letting Snook out and when I explain that Snook isn't coming home he informs me that Snook is his best friend and will come home because Snook loves him.

My wife and I debated getting another ferret but really couldn't afford one. So over the last 2 weeks three ferrets have been given away on kijiji. We have been close to getting them but it has fallen through each time.

Well last week I sold a Guinea pig cage to a lady about 25 minutes away. I mentioned to her about my son letting the ferret out. Well I got an email from her at 5:30 tonight telling me about a ferret ad on kijiji. She just wanted to let me know that someone has noticed a ferret living under there mini home and according to Google map it doesn't look far from my place. It takes me 30 seconds to yell to my wife to check the ad while I put my shoes on and jump in the van. My wife calls me and tells me the address which I already knew cause I checked while driving. I get there and Boone is home but the ad was only 10 minutes old.

Well I have someone waiting at the gas station 3 minuets from my place to pick up some frozen mice. So I drop them off and pickup my wife and kids and a couple of flashlights. When I pull up to the house that posted the ad the are literally just stepping out of their car. I tell them about seeing the ad and he shows me the access door to under his mini home.

After 10 minutes of army crawling under his place I come to a spot where it is too tight for my fat but to go any further. But there is a piece of vapor barrier hanging down and some insulation. I throw a rock at it and hear movement. Guess who freaking comes out. Its SNOOK! My arm can't quite reach him but he comes up and sniffs my hand. Then he comes close enough for me to grab. He is skin and bones....literally! But he is freaking alive!!!! My kids are ecstatic and my son is stoked! (He was at his grandparents when we found him.

Snook has lost a ton of weight and his poop is neon green but other than that it is party time!

Re: where is the crack cat

That's great news Korbin. Glad to hear it. We had a ferret escape on us once and one of the neighbors told us he saw a ferret jump on his beagle's back. We wound up finding him on someone's car-port just a few houses down. Of course he'd only been out a few hours.

For fattening him up, you can try chicken baby food as a supplement. Or make a batch of 'Bob's (Church) Chicken Gravy'. We used to feed it to our ferrets exclusively and they loved it. Here's a link to a recipe: Ferret Lovers Club of Texas - Bob Church's Chicken Gravy

Good luck w/ the little guy!
