Re: Too Crowded
On a side note i caught my Jawa doing something cool he was actually digging. He would stick his head in the sand position it side ways and drag the sand back he had a pretty nice mound goin.

Re: Too Crowded
Not as crowded as my tank looks! I think snakes prefer a lot of 'stuff' in their tank (as long as it's not something that can fall on them!), it gives them more places to hide and makes it less boring for them.

Re: Too Crowded
I have no ideas what sand boas need, but I like the look of your tank. Before my wife changed her mind about a sand boa (she got a BP) I was looking forward to decorating a desert type enclosure.

Re: Too Crowded
Looks good, just one question...Is that calcium sand that you are using? I don't know a whole lot about sand boas but I would wonder if that sand is safe. If he were in ingest some while digging or eating it could clump in his belly. Not trying to nit pic but just thinking of possible problems that could arise in the future.

Re: Too Crowded
Do you ever take him out? How do you do that? Do you have to sift through all the sand to find him?

Re: Too Crowded
its calci sand cause i like the sparkle look but i dont feed him in there. and i take him out once a day i just slowly sift my hand on the bottom till i feel him and slide my hand underneath and pull him out. hes extremely docile never been bitten my brother has. jawa hates him with a passion.
