Re: Perfect example of a defensive snake
The strike and "o0oAH!" at 1:03 is priceless I also love the hissing sound pine snake do
Definitely a good example of a defensive (not "aggressive") snake. That's one nervous little bugger. Thanks for sharing that

Re: Perfect example of a defensive snake
I didn't have the volume up at first but I watched it again and the hissing is awesome! <3
Reminds me of the basalisk[sp?] on Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets :3

Re: Perfect example of a defensive snake
Steph: I bought this snake purely for its attitude, I plan to use it to teach people the difference between aggressive and defensive behavior.
I'm actually working with it backwards, if it hisses and strikes, I leave it alone, so it learns that if it wants to be left alone, bite and hiss and puff and rattle the tail. Hopefully he stays like that.

Re: Perfect example of a defensive snake
I'm surprised it actually struck. They mostly hiss and coil up then back right off once you pick them up. Great video. Wait till hes 5' long though. The strike might actually hurt then
