Spiders!!

I didnt realize people were interested in invertebrates on this website, as i have quite a collection. In the case i figured id post a picture or two of my "hand-able" specimens... 3 Rose Hairs.. I also keep a P. Regalis and a Green Bottle Blue Tarantula's. Very easy upkeep. I can post pictures of both of these if anyone is interested but there on the "bite first ask questions later" status...LOL Rose Hairs are great "beginner" species for anyone looking to venture into the hobby. Very rarely do they bite.

Also figured id throw in another picture of my Eyelash Viper.. unrelated to the topic LOL

Re: Spiders!!

Spiders are great to watch when they're busy, but handling them.... not so much.

Re: Spiders!!

hahah there not "busy" to often.. These guys are not bad to handle they dont move much and are easy to read, they wont bite for just any reason. The other two if there going to bite it will be the second you put your hand near them, then they calm down. Ive been bit a few times its like 3 or 4 hornets stinging you in the same place, kinda hurts hahah. I hope to have 200+ Spiderlings here soon. Hard to find a home for so many...

Re: Spiders!!

Nice Emperor, Its awesome for manageable, handle-able those guys are. We have a rose hair as well. Don't have any scorpions at the moment, try to keep the piece.

Re: Spiders!!

I said id post pictures of my other spiders. Here's two of my favorites:

P. regalis or Indian Ornamental Tree Spider (Tarantula)
- The most venomous species of Tarantula

Here is my Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens or Green Bottle Blue Tarantula

They are both very young, the P. regalis can reach 7-9" and the Green Bottle Blue is still a spiderling his color hasn't developed all the way yet.

Re: Spiders!!

And do you handle them too? How do you clean their cages, I don't assume you can use hooks?

The little blue one ive handled before, he shoots eradicating hairs on me though, just cause hes young and scared. It just itches for alittle bit then goes away... Unless it gets in your eye's then its surgery lol. The P. regalis i can honestly say i am scared to handle hahah. They are so fast, but they are not aggressive they prefer flight over fight any day. But there bites have been known to cause full body muscle cramps for over 2 weeks and complete and total pain and agony... not fatal but not fun at all... Ive never handled her and i may never...

Re: Spiders!!

Get haired in the face, or bitten by anything with a decent venom and say you aren't :P
They scratch their backsides and flick hairs at you, that cause crazy pain :P
(one of the only reasons I'm hesitant when it comes to getting a Theraphosa Blondi :P )
