How do feel about putting your reptiles in a signature?

Ive gone back and forth.First I thought people were just showing off.But after being on a few boards Ive decided I like it.First off if your getting opinions its nice to know the person actually has the animal in question.
Plus Ive seen someones sig and saw an animal Id been interested in so I could ask them questions. So Ive found putting your animals in your sig. useful.
What is your opinion?

It shocked me once to talk to someone that had so much to say and they didnt even own a reptile....
IDK Im bored tonight and theres nothing on TV.My kids at camp too so theres nothing to do.

I can't fit mine in a signature line, so I quit trying, years ago.

I see that so often.. and some of them will even argue with those who have kept the snakes in question for many years.

google bloody warriors and armchair dreamers arghhhhh

its nuts wayne how some folk think there's a snake rule book written in stone and they give it.....

" they must be kept like this and no other way "

or because they read it somewhere that it has to be correct and true

imo its hard enough to advise on some subjects even when you keep the species in question

for example take the 2 male diamonds i just got they could not be any different husbandry wise if they tried as one loves heat the other loves cold so i assume they (my male diamonds) have not read the diamond handbook ???

so its hard enough advising from hands on experience far less advising with only the knowlegde gained from reading

a book is but 1 mans opinion after all...!!

unless said book has scientific proof then imo its slightly different to quote actual scientific facts

^^^^^
hope the above makes sense

cheers shaun

I like it but at the same time I am likely to change it as well. Fickle like that.

Re: How do feel about putting your reptiles in a signature?

if i get anything else, i will need to find a nice quote lol i think its a little showing off, but its my passion, my snakes and pets mean the world to me so i dont see the harm in being a proud owner and spreading my collection with other who feel the same way as me, ie a forum. when i have kids i will show them off as well lol

I'm with Wayne and Shawn on this one, so I'll post my animals here one time instead:

22.106 ball pythons
12.60 adult rats
300+ baby rats
0.2 labrador retrievers
0.0.1 wife

Re: How do feel about putting your reptiles in a signature?

Its different for each user imo. I do it to show my interests not to show off or imply anything about my knowledge of reptiles. I also list mine in aquisitional (sp) order so if you know that about me you can see I have moved from pythons to colubrids to boas.

Re: How do feel about putting your reptiles in a signature?

I don't use them in my sig simply because the numbers fluctuate drastically.

There has been times that I had 400+ baby snakes alone in the house at once.

Sometimes there is over 1000 unsexed mice and rats in my freezer.
