Hey Everyone!!
Hey... I am looking for help with my blue tailed skink!!! I have had him/her about 5 months or so and it has always been active. Friday, I changed the dirt in the tank and last night I noticed that its (IDK if it is a male or female) belly is kind of swollen looking and is not using its back legs. I have soaked it a few times in warm water because that was about the extent of info I could find... Others I have spoken to think it is most likely constipated due to the dirt so I dumped it and put in something similar to AstroTurf so there isn't anything for it to ingest; I believe it got like this from diving into the dirt for a cricket and getting a mouth full of dirt along with it. I am hoping that someone on here would be able to help me out!! I am pretty sure it is still under a year old and like I said, I have not been able to determine its sex yet. Thank you so much for any advice you can offer!!!

Re: Hey Everyone!!
Hello and welcome. If not provided with sufficient vitamin D3 and calcium, fast growing babies are very prone to metabolic bone disease. This rapidly manifests itself by causing weakened limbs and kinked backs. I would take it to the vet to get it checked out.

Hi, welcome aboard. I agree with Marvelfreak, get him to the vet. And good luck!

Re: Hey Everyone!!
Hey, thanks for the info! Unfortunately, a few minutes after I posted the other night, my skink died :-( Never even had the chance to take it to a vet... I am actually looking into getting a Savanna Monitor, any suggestions?
