Mice/Rat sellers?

Just wondering if anyone here knew a good store to buy rats or mice or any good snake feeders. Preferably in the South western U.S. area but all of the U.S. is fine. Idk how easy it is to get them from anywhere else if I live in Cali? o.O

Thinking about keeping my new JCP or whatever snake I get at the next expo on rats, seeing as how they are healthier. Or so I've read.

Re: Mice/Rat sellers?

I found my supplier on CL, he does weekly deliveries to my door. He has all sizes from pinkies(mice) to large rats, live or frozen as well as frozen rabbits. I would start there, it ended up being a great resource for me.

Feeder Rodents - Reptile Food, Birds of Prey, Aquatic, Feed Carnivores

If you order bulk, they get real cheap.

Thanks. I'll definitely go to that site when/if I need it. I checked craigslist and there are no sellers around, so..:/

Re: Mice/Rat sellers?

Rodent Pro is good if you have a TON of snakes, but since frozen rodents have a limited shelf life (1 year w/ fur, 6 months for pinks), the flat rate shipping really bites you in the *** if you don't need a ton of rodents ($50 shipping for ups ground). If you have a small number of snakes, I recommend just breeding rodents. One female mouse, gerbil, or rat can easily keep 1-2 snakes fed indefinitely (until they get too old to breed, then you just replace them with one of their daughters)

Re: Mice/Rat sellers?

Hmm thanks for the suggestion. I'll have to think about the breeding thing, though. I absolutely hate *keeping* rodents. I let other people do that, lol. Maybe I will have to think about getting a setup for some rats or something. Is breeding them hard to do? Is there a long wait for babies?

Re: Mice/Rat sellers?

i order from Rodent Pro but i have 15 snakes and order every 6 months...but like Nafun said if you just have a few i would breed.oh you can look at American Rodent Supply or The Mouse Factory - Home page. The finest in frozen rodents.

Re: Mice/Rat sellers?

rats breed slower than gerbils or mice, but have larger litters.

They reach adulthood in a couple of months, females are ready to breed at 5 months.

Re: Mice/Rat sellers?

Did you post an ad on CL looking for a dealer?
