Feeder chickens? Am I crazy?

Ok I'm quite new to reptile keeping but I've been raising poultry for a while ( turkeys mostly and chickens too this year). I've got a Colombian rainbow boa and soon will add a Dumeril's boa to my collection. Thinking ahead to when they get larger couldn't they be fed baby/small chickens as well as rats? I've seen mention in my research that they eat birds in the wild. Also if they can then in a couple of weeks I could have a meal equivalent to a jumbo rat at a tiny fraction of the cost.
So...... will this be ok, am I crazy, or do I have a bad idea?

Re: Feeder chickens? Am I crazy?

my dad used to feed chicks to his boas for years, as far as i know its better than rats, low fat high protien, i could be wrong that they are better than rats, probably the same. but yes they are a good food source i know that.
