Typical!!
Kevin the corn snake went blue couple of days back so been keeping a close eye on him (first snake - first shed!) hoping to catch the event in person. He lives just by my head where i sit most of the day so can keep an eye on him quite easily.
LAst night i got caugtht up playing Warcraft (i know i am sad!! ) and looked round after about 30-40 minutes to find the shed skin in the enclosure!! Flipping missed it!!
All come off in one piece and eyes and tail all look great - in fact he looks so shiny and new - so am happy that it was a good shed, just missed the event!!
Have to wait now for me other corn (Perry) to shed and hope i catch that one......

Re: Typical!!
I just happened to walk into the snake room at the right time.
Sooner or later you will time it right. They shed a lot.

Re: Typical!!
Maybe we need a community "shed thread" where everyone shows off sheds??

Re: Typical!!
I have a few of my big carpet Voodoo's sheds that measure 8'9"! He isn't quite that long, but his sheds stretch a bit.

Re: Typical!!
nope just walked in the door from a bike ride around the park and she had already shed, her soaking wet skin was in a thousand peices spread from on side of the cage to the other and she's chilling under her heat light all shiny and new. oh well maybe one day ill catch her and help her roll it off in one peice myself. she seems to not know how to peel it from her head like your pics, everytime she rolls it like you roll up you pant legs then when it gets tight she just tears it off and shreads the rest of shed by rubbing he body over everything. last time i had the cut the roll off her becuase it had rolled up so tight on her it got stuck like a ring on her.... One day she will give me a skin i can keep...one day

Re: Typical!!
Freebody - hopefully someone more experienced can confirm this but i understand that the only good shed is a "one-piece" shed? And that if this doesnt happen then the environment may not be perfect.
Apologies if i am wrong - am still assimilating a lot of information currently!

Typically but just because they are not in one piece doesn't mean it wasn't a perfet shed.
Snakes are pushing & pulling afterall & will sometimes rip them in a few spots depending what they get caught on etc.
Not to be confused with a crappy shed where they actually shed in small pieces & retain some etc. of course & then its enviromental, or potentally mites etc. Mark

Re: Typical!!
When my snakes are in shed i mist their cages a least twice a day. This help them shed a perfect one piece shed everytime.
