Hi gang!
Please let me tell you a bit about myself before presenting the star of the show. My name is Martin and I'm a newly-discovered snake addict. I'm 33 and, believe it or not, the first time I ever touched or held a snake was four months ago via a presentation by Safari Jeff and Shannon at the BC Wildlife Park. I got to hold their two beauties (a 6 foot albino bullsnake and 12 foot albino boa) and since then, I've been hooked. I thought I wanted a Cornsnake or something similar based on research I did but things were to change.
I since met a young lady that owned two Columbian Boas and got to spend a bit of time with them. My longing to own one grew and she knew it. Lo and behold, when she got pregnant and decided she couldn't keep both snakes and the baby, who did she call? Yes, I got a beautiful 5-year-old Columbian Boa named Dave given to me, complete with all of his toys and accessories! I think I giggled like a schoolgirl when this happened.
Let me introduce all of you to Dave. With my obsessive hobby being photography, Dave will surely be the subject of many-a-picture to come. He is 5 years old, exactly 6 feet long, and weighs in at 8lbs. Having met literally hundreds and maybe even thousands of new people, Dave is the most tame snake you will ever meet and that's exactly how I like him to be. He likes nothing better than to cuddle into someone new and fall asleep while nuzzling their chest or neck. Scratching him on the top of his head is also a sure-fire way to make him mellow out if he's getting too curious.
Enough with the talk. Let's get to some pictures. Beyond what you see below, you can check out my photo site link below for a small sampling of the people Dave has met:
