i just adopted a new boa from someone that did not take care of the snake very well and i was just woundering if there was a way to clean it. i have put it in the tub just with water like i do my other snakes but it has a smell to it like it was in a cage that was never cleaned so if anyone could help i would love it thanks

try a long soak in nice warm water, depending on your boas size this can be interesting ( visualize 25lb adult male deciding he wants out by way of shower curtain). i have never had to try it but have been told that a very small ammount of baby shampoo can be added to the water but would want confirmation from someone else that has used it first.
We had the same problem with our 9 foot boa. He stunk for about 3 weeks but we kept putting him in the bath and had a bowl big enough for him to soak in his tank, with regular clean outs he now smells of roses, (except when he does his business!!)
