good pet snake

what would you consider being a good snake... a peruvian red tailed boa constrictor (BCC)
a argentine boa (BCO) or a dumerils boa ahh(AD)(.......... dumerili

there all great snakes, but the one with the best disposition would prob be the dumeril's.

All of these snakes are well covered on the 'net, just do a little research of your own.

iLLwiLL, you are of course correct and I perhaps should lighten up. I sincerely hope I did not really offend anyone. If I did, then I apologise and especially to 'BallPythonLover'.

I had no reason to become impatient with our friend 'BallPythonLover' except for the fact that he or she is already the owner of a a Bc (according to a recent post) and should have been aware of the answers to some of the questions asked, before actually acquiring the snake.

On top of which, the same or similar questions have been asked on numerous postings over the course of the last few days by this same person. Questions which are easily answered by reading a decent care sheet.

Only a couple of days ago I answered in some detail, certain facts related to Dumeril Boas, Peruvian Boas and Argentinian Boas, with the odd personal observation thrown in. This was in direct answer to one of 'BallPythonLover's questions.

I was hoping my answers might help in some way, only to see the latest new posting which is merely a repeat of the previous question but ever so slightly reworded.

If 'BallPythonLover' has a genuine problem, concern, or a specific question that needs to be answered in relation to any species, there is a vast amount of knowledge and experience out there to help. Most people are more than willing to provide that help, but not if the same old questions are going to be repeated over and over again.

I'm sorry if I sound like an old crab, but surely it's easier to check out 'Google' or other source for the simpler things, than keep posting, then hanging around to see if anyone bothers to post a reply and as we know, often they don't.

Incidentally, if anyone knows of a good comprehensive caresheet especially relating to the actual breeding of Dumerils, I would be interested to learn of it.

I have searched for one but although there are many caresheets out there related to Dumerils, non of the ones I have seen seem to go into much detail beyond the basic husbandry of the species.

Well, none of the above!
I would choose a Taipan or a mamba. If your local dealer doesn't have those, i think you could also go with a nice gaboon viper. They are so cute...

I good thing for beginners is to start with a WC 14' afrock and then graduate into a 19' sulawesi. They hiss a bit, but usually don't kill you. Not, like, for sure...or anything.
Red tails and dumerils should only be kept by lunatics with lots of experience and somewhat of a deathwish.

a buddy of mine that breeds dum's sent me a ton of info on them, but its not in the mail box any more, i'll bug him tomorrow and make a new thread on it . . . or i could just have him do it. i too cant seem to find any good info on breeding them, but my pair seem to be going at it pretty well.

If you check the post made by 'BallPythonLover' on September 15th '05, you will see that he states that he already is the owner of a young Bci or more probably a Bcc (and a nice one at that), judging from the photograph that was posted around the same time.
