It's not common for a 5 footer to be high yellow. they are sort of orange at that size.
If you are going to feed him rabbits, it's gotta be very small ones. I think you should give him rats instead. They come to a point when they feel like having a change in diet, so you should be saving rabbits for when he's bigger, i think.

I put all my snakes on rabbits asap. I have access to all sizes of rabbits, so it's not hard for me to offer appropriate sized rabbits. I also feed my burms weekly.
at that size he is probably capable of eating small rabbits but rats are probably more readily available for you. if you can find rabbits then i say go for it but if not rats should be ok. i would feed him once a week. he is nowhere near done growing so there is no reason to slow his feeding down to once every two weeks unless he is overweight.
