Hondurans - Ghost Project
Hello !
At last, here I am. Can't wait to see the results of our first year ever of hondos (Ghost Project) and pyros (Applegate Special Project) breeding...
Here is the result of my Honduran Anery het/Hypo male x Hypo het/Anery female. Of these 10 eggs, I should get about 1/4 of Ghost, 1/4 of Anery het/Hypo, 1/4 of Hypo het/Anery and 1/4 of dbl-het Ghost...
Can't wait to let you know what comes out of these eggs!

Actually...since all Honduran morphs are recessive, you will get all double het Ghosts.

Not at all!
The key here is that my Anery male is "het Hypo" and my Hypo female is "het Anery".
So, I still stand behind my original odds (1/4 Ghost, etc...)

Best of luck with these eggs - have any ghosts been produced in Canada to date? - would be wonderful to achieve. Great looking pair with nice regular even banding - congrats on the eggs and best of luck for a couple ghost babies.

It's a very good question...
To my knowlegde, no Honduran Ghost has been produced yet in Canada but I remember that someone from this side of the border has bought one (or two?) from Terry Dunham last year.
I also know that Marc Bouchard has the stock to produce one but still hasn't had any luck with Ghosts (tough he produced many gorgeous Anery and Hypos with his pair).
Maybe this year Marc ;-) ?

We have two adult males from Terry - got them a couple years ago and the first male pictured below produced a clutch of hets for us last year. I love the ghosts - but with a move this year we didn't breed much - did give my tangerine albino a shot with one female but he is still small and they didn't lock up.
Sure would be great to see some ghost hondos produced in Canada and the patterns on your parent stock are great - really regular bands.
One of our ghost males
With the female last year (clutch of 8)
Other male who is waiting for next year

Hi Mary!
Yes, those are the "Canadian" Ghosts I was talking about in my previous post.
Didn't realize you were the one who owned them!!!
Thanks for sharing the photos.
