Did you miss me yet? :)
I'm not ignoring anyone, my PC has been down. I'm currently using a borrowed computer (went to visit my sister to use her PC to get my forum fix).
If all goes well, I'll be back in the next day or so. Had no choice but to reformat ol' PC. I've lost a lot but luckily I did have backups of the important stuff (like the ssnakess URL )
Seems some junk mail with a few worm variants got through Norton on Sunday night. From what I can tell, the worms were discovered Sunday, the same day we got them. The 'fix' was only available Monday, too late for us. The computer shop virus-fixer-uppers said there were at least 6 viruses and things were so corrupted they didn't know where to start, the safest was to reformat.
This is the second time this year we've gotten a worm/virus on the day it was discovered. I'm thinking we're on the hacker's Preferred Customer List, we get the virus right out of the oven, still toasty warm and fresh.
Anyhoo, see you all back on the forum in a day or so.

Ok, well if no one else will admit it...
OK I'LL SAY IT!!
*I miss you!*
I will await your return... until then, I will continue to sip on homemade Crested Gecko food and Rum. <hic>
It's making me feel a little better.. :rsmile:
Sorry to hear about the loss of your computer. Happens to me about every six months or so. Hence, our external HD and several backups every week. Doesn't completely irradicate the pain of a reformat, but it helps to have a computer network analyst for a hubby.
I thought the Rhac list had gotten awful quiet...
ttyl,
Kim

Awwwwww........ I missed the you and the forum too. (group sniffle )
I "THINK" I got it working enough so we can surf and get our forum addiction fix. There's still lots to reinstall, but the surfing was top priority. A computer that only computes and doesn't surf to forums isn't a real computer, right?
I lost all the email from last weekend, hopefully nothing important.

The forum's been waaaay quiet since you haven't been around, Hilde... I need my Rhac Forum fix...
Today I was at the reptile store, almost left with a pair of Taiwan Beauty Snakes, took a long look at a Bull Snake (added an Albino Bull to my list of must-haves) oogled a gorgeous albino King and if they had had any Brazilian Rainbows, I would have taken one... and I forgot to look at the cresties!
I'm slipping... lol. I have realized that my cresties have outnumbered all my other herps... I need to even things out. That way I can justify adding more cresties. Of course then I'll have to add more snakes... then more cresties... then more snakes...
We're moving to a bigger place soon... need more room for tanks.
Good to see you back... and yes, a computer that doesn't surf is not a computer at all.
Kim

I missed you too. Your witty humor rocks in all your posts, always makes me laugh.
To prevent this from happening, download the beta version of the microsoft anti-virus and spyware software, (if you have windows). Free download from microsoft.com. Its really easy to install, and has been working really well for me, and hopefully will save you from scary viruses in the future.
Welcome back!
Artemis

I had Norton watching the computer for me, every bell and whistle he had were monitoring the PC. Trouble is the virus that got through (can't recall the name right now) came in fresh after it was 'released', before there was a fix for it. It's a small window of time to get a bug like that, but that's life - sometimes you catch it before the virus scanners get the updates.
But for now I'm back.... until the next time
At least I got the newest latest upgraded Norton now, with trojan and worm detection for MSN.
