Which Bloods?
I have a pair of Red Bloods and a pair of Borneo Bloods which I intend on breeding in the near future, but heres my dilema which Blood in the long run sells better: Reds or Borneos?
Also what would happen if I bred Reds and Borneos together then bred back the offspring to the parent. Would that make any difference (red borneos???)or would I be simply wasting my time?
Let me know what you think I'm open to all your opinions!

black bloods are my personal favorite, so i would say yeah, pick up a pair. the more the merrier. basically, just own and breed what you like best. as for value, blacks will probably hold out at a higher price for a little while since they are less common in captivity, but i think it will eventually even out.

Dave:
Currently, Red bloods are easier to sell, but as biggworm said, Borneos are gaining in popularity. Obviously, the rule of thumb for us herpers is: BUY MORE SNAKES! Lol, some would hold off just to see how it is when they breed for the first time, but in the ends its totally up to you, man.
Also.......I and most people agree: Hybrids = Nono.
Again, as biggworm said, "keep 'em pure".
Also, you probably wouldnt be making "red borneos". I have seen baby crosses and adult crosses, and the babies seem to look good/ok but the adults dont look that great IMO. You would have to line breed alot to get the "red borneos" and they still wouldnt be pure. JMO.
Also, borneos arent bloods:
Borneo = Borneo Short-Tailed Python(Python Breinsteini)
Blood Python = Malaysian/Summatran Blood Python(Python Brongersmai)
Black Blood = Summatran Short-Tailed Python(Python Curtus)
Bloods(Blood Pythons) are sometimes called "red bloods" but they actually come in a variety of colors, ie: Cream, Yellow, Red, Orange, Brownish.

Thanks alot guys and as biggworm said I'm gonna "KEEP EM PURE". Well that solves one problem and the other is as of getting a pair of Black Bloods. Would any of you know where I could get my hands on a pair in Ontario preferably the GTA.
Also does anyone have any pics of interbreeds of Blood Pythons?

At the moment, good luck getting any blacks in CANADA. Lol. Try Bob Clark right now. Some people might have some this spring/summer though. Also, for interbreed pics there is a thread somewhere in the past month that has some pics.

The show is either August 24 or 27 I'm not exactly sure, but I heard it's the biggest show in the east coast. I saw pics of it on the web and it looks like 100 times bigger than the Ontario Reptile Expo..LOL, a friend of mine that went there for the 2001 show told me they were selling kinsnakes for $5 USD but still thats a sweet deal!!! I hope their Alb Bloods are that cheap...hehehe
