I think I have scale rot?

I have a Brazilian Rainbow Boa. A while back I thought he had burnt himself so I was waiting for a few sheds for it to heal. I have come back home from college and it looks like it might be scale rot. This stuff has spread in spots along his body. I don't know exactly what scale rot looks like but I think thats what this has to be. It would be really great if someone could explain what it looks like or post a picture of it. I am also wondering if there is something I can do without going to the vet to help get rid of this. I am feeling horrible right now and I really want to get rid of this.
Thank You

It's usually a brown rusty color, and the scales tend to develope ripples, and sometimes the outer layer of the scale will even peel off. It's often rather soft or mushy.
