Digital Scale and findings.....

I finally got a scale(thanks for the help Trace) Pelouze SP5 for less than $50.

I weighed my female jackson's who was bred in late August. She's 5 1/4" SVL and weighs 90 g. I don't think she's gravid, going by Adcham's weight for this species.

I also weighed my two brevs. Female is 2" Overall and 3 g. Male is 2 1/2" overall and again 3 g. What is a typical weight for brev's? They have been introduced and I thought I saw some mating happening - so what would a female with eggs weigh? I realize that she is still small and the scale may not be precise enough to help me on this.

p.s... tell your g-friend thanks for the help... i did put the extra light over the cham and he seems slightly happier...

if you dont know what im talkin about i met your g-friend the other day while she was working and she helped me with my chameleon... she told m,e to make it brighter so i did.....

Here are the stats I promised you for some of my woggley-eyed monsters. I apologise, I didn't get any SVL measurements for you but I've included approximate ages for comparison.

I haven't noticed any significant weight gain with the Rhamphs when they are gravid, but, like you, I don't have the best digital scale. I also don't like to torment them too much when they are gravid. All I can say is they look like fat, little sausages with feet just before they are going to lay, particularly the ulu's!

Hey

Since were on the topic about brevs, this guy at the pet store I know, knows people that sell leaf chameleons for 35 each. Why doesnt breeders post ads and such; to get some bucks?

I can oly say that if you put an ad up you get tons of questions with each post.
If you are able to sell your animals without posting it you save yourself alot of time. But then again on some forums the breeder is expected to tell you everything about care from the minute it is born to the minute it dies.

Besides, Canadians aren't interested in spending money on quality, captive bred chameleons. Nobody is interested in anything but the ubiquitous calyptratus and pardalis. *yawn*

For various personal reasons, I'm going to the States for a bit, and my really neat assortment of odd chameleons are coming with me. I know my chances are slim of selling these guys up here before I go.
