New Mali Uro - Glass scratching

So I just picked up a Mali Uro today. Also little creatures! She is about 4 inches long and in a 20 long with a screen top. She has a half log on the cool side and a small flow pot with a hole chipped out on the basking side. Temp is 125 on the basking side and about 83 on the cool side. She has spent the day running around the tank (and up on the branch) and clawing at the glass constantly. Is this just stress and she will settle in? I put in some food but no interest yet (I know she ate a bunch of crickets and mealworms at the store before I took her home). Thanks!

Jamie

I say she's just getting use to the tanks. Most lizards will scratch and dig at the sides from time to time.

The two uro's I had before would constantly do this, and its just because they are so active that really any tank we make is never big enough.

What type of thermometre are you using, it could also be that your temps are to high. If it is forsure 125 then thats good.

I only use accurite indoor/outdoor (probe for the hot side and the unit sits on the cool side) for all my snakes and this girl. I just wanted to make sure she is not freaked out too much. I think the 125 is accurate.

Well she has finally settled in and is eating well (went through a whole food bowl while I was at work today). The funniest thing she does is that when you turen off the heat and uvb at night she goes right into one of her hides and goes to sleep. She doesnt wake up even to reposition herself until the next morning about 15 minutes after the light and heat goes back on. At that point she wanders around in a daze like a person when they first wake up. What an amazing personality!! Has anyone else noticed this type of behavior?
