Wax worm question.

My leopard gecko hasn't ate by herself since september 5th. I was just wondering about getting her wax worms. I called the local pet store and they said that they have them but they only come in 50 count containers. I know that you can put mealworms in your fridge and then take them out and they're still alive but can you do that with wax worms? Also if I can do that then how many should I feed her a week (if she eats them at all) since I want to try and put weight on her?

If she hasn't eaten in a month, and you think she needs to gain some weight, it sounds like more than just a matter of not eating. My suggestion is to get her checked out, fecal check for sure. Waxworms are addicting to leos, so I wouldn't use them to get her eating again. Try crickets, they usually work, or silkworms, any of the good food bugs, not waxworms. Since you'll have 50 to get rid of, there would probably be enough to get one leo hooked.
Sorry I can't help with the fridge thing, I never have enough waxies that I've had to store them.

Oh well I've already taken her to the vet, twice actually and I posted about it. I have to give her medicine every other day because she has internal parasites that I'm thinking she got from the bearded dragons that the breeder was keeping. I also have to feed her perscription dog/cat soft/wet food every day until she is eating well on her own. She actually pooped her first solid poop today (the rest was all diarrhea). I'm just basicly trying to find something that she'll want to eat that will plump her up. I wouldn't know where to get silkworms so I can't try those. She has no interest in crickets or mealworms. I'm going to see if she'll eat by herself today. The other times that I have tried have failed.

Thanks for the comment.
