W. Hognose

Getting a hognose and I was just curious. What does everyone use for substrate? Do they do well on just paper towel? When using aspen, what kind, shredded or the dusty garbage?

I've read that they get RI very easily. If using aspen and a water bowl on top of the aspen, does anyone have a problem with their hogs tipping the dish often?

Thanks for any and all information.

Shane

I use any type of aspen that is available to me at the time, and I use tupperware dishes for water and sort of bury them in the aspen enough to where he can't flip them over.

Hay i have about 2 dozen hogs and i use coconut fiber because
they like to root throw it like they wood in the wild, you can even put a bit of sand in it because they look for toads in sandy areas
in the wild.
