glass tracks, what kind and where?

Hi, I want to build some more cages but I'd like to use some glass tracks to be able to slide the glass back and forth. What do you all use for tracks and where do you get them. I only have a crappy tire and a home hardware in town. There soon will be a home depot near by but not for a wile as they are just starting the construction of the building. lol.

Once I find the tracks how do I silicone them in and then get the glass in afterwards?

Please, any ideas and help is much appriciated!! Thanks.

Sliding glass tracking made for china cabinets. Home Depot or any major lumber store will have them. Exensive as HECK though.

Theres a system with bearing that they sell in glass places, here its about 10$ per feet, its a bit expensive but its the best system you can find. They also sell plastic tracks with a split in the middle for 1/4 glass, thats what i use for my cages, its pretty innexpensive and doing a pretty good job (4$for bottom part(8feet) 5$ for top part(8feet)

Deb, the plastic stuff is made by Nape & Voigt and is available at Depot and Rona outlets although it can be hard to find stock. It comes in white and also Brown.. and in various gauges to fit different glass thicknesses.I use the 1/8 size for incubator doors, but it comes in 1/4 inch too for thicker glass. Recently the brown product has been hard to find, but try Lansing buildall stores.
You install the product with contact cement applying glue to both the cage and the track, allowing both surfaces to dry for 20 minutes and then pressing it in place. This is far better than finishing nails that can interfere with the glass.

The track is designed with the top being deeper than the bottom. This allows the glass to be inserted into the top first, then you let it fall into the bottom track. When properly sized its easy to remove the glass after installation
