Question rabbit food??

ok i know this might be a silly question. I know everyone says dog food for dogs, cat foot for cats and rat food for rats... but Mazuri is not the easiest thing to find where i am. not many peeps breed rats here and when they do, places i saw dont feed them Mazuri. i saw rabbit food over the weekend at the pet store and i was wondering what you all thought of feeding rats rabbit food....and if not what you thought woud be the "best" alternative to mazuri.

Definately not. It's alfalfa and all the stuff rats can't live on. The best alternative I would say is low-protien dog food. I've heard some people mention something about horse pellets or something but you'd have to ask someone else.

Rats can NOT survive on rabbit pellets as they are primarily hay, which rats don't eat.
I notice that you are located in Jamaica, Phrasty. Are there any "farm supply" stores near you? Places which sell food for horses, cattle, chickens, ect? If so, you may be able to find some "horse chunks." The brand I use is called "5 Star" and I'm not sure if that would be available where you are. Some people on this board feed their rats cheap dog food. I wouldn't recommend doing this if you want a good quality food item for your snakes <or whatever you are feeding the rats to>. You can also try mixing up your own rat food by using a variety of different grains, fruits, vegetables, boiled eggs, cooked chicken, ect. This might be a bit more work than you want, but it's an alternative.
You may also be able to special order the Mazuri rat diet in through a farm supply store.
Take care
