Ball pythons and rubbermaids...

For those that keep ball pythons and who also keep them in rubbermaids, what size of rubbermaids do you keep them in? In terms of measurements and/or liquid capacity as they're so often described in.

I've kept hatchlings successfully in anything under 28qt rubbermaids (ie: 6qt or 15qt have worked best). I keep juveniles in 28-32 quart rubbermaids, and some adults get the 41-qt rubbermaids, but they also seem to like the 32qts.

That's what has worked for me.

P.S- All those rubbermaid sizes are around the 5"-6" height range.

Wouldn't happen to know measurements for the larger ones would you? Or what models they are?

I use Sterilite containers that measure roughly 36"L x 17"W x 6"H.

Thanks for all the info! It's VERY much appreciated and is getting jotted down in my lil "herp book" where I keep sketches and info that I come across.

Also... Most of the measurements in terms of height are very low. Do BPs not need any height at all? 6" seems so low.

BP are ground snakes. Most of their time is spend hiding under things anyway so no they don't really need any height.

i keep all my adults in 45L Strelite containers, and they love it. They are all eating machines now, where as before they only ate about half as much as they do now.

Rubbermaid snap cases all the way!!!!!!!

They kinda look like suit cases and come in 3 sizes and a few colours (clear and clear blue are good). They lock with snaps so you don't have to worry about taping or putting weight on top and that kinda crap.

The biggest one is great and has a locking handle that your bp will spend countless hours going back and forth in between! It's about 20"X 14" X 8" H.

The small one is good too, and it doesn't have such a scary top-down approach as most rubbermaids/serilites. Those are around 12"X14"X 6" H.

(trying to find a picture) biggest not shown here.

But I also have sterilite and gracious living containers for the bigger stuff..... anything that needs more than a 30 gallon rubbermaid gets an enclosure.
