most impressive giant.
Since this is the giant python forum i would like to ask you all what was the most impressive giant python you ever saw (live or through footage). Also state the reason for that.
I must say that the female silver retic Steve Irwin has got in that Australian zoo of his is the most impressive giant i've seen. first, because she's truly the BIGGEST retic i ever saw and second, because she looks so docile for a python that grew in a zoo...

i have to say my 14' super tiger. ive always had a thing for supers and i think they are by far the most beautiful morph of retic(i hate albino anything) and shes mine.

My first giant was my female afrock and she was only 10 feet but still just massive and most impressive because there is nothign like seeing them close up!

Well i have seen pics of bob clark's retic "fluffy," and "baby" the 403 pound monster burm from serpent safari in illinois and would say they are very, very impressive

My most impressive is my female albino burm. She is 14' and is awesome. The most impressive I've seen in person though is when I lived in New York. The Central Park Zoo in the city had a pair of Rocks that were huge. They both looked well over 16'.

The most impressive ive seen is a green anaconda I saw in a documentry. The thing ate an adult deer no problem and the end result of how big she looked just stunned me...
But one that ive seen live has to be the one at reptilia..its around 400 lb's now too i think and has 3 interconnected tanks for it..its awesome

wow, a captive conda at 400 pounds!!! Where is she at?
I've seen pics of huge anacondas too. The most impressive was a dead one found by explorer Ponssuelo shown inside national geographic magazine. She was unreal...cartoon sized animal.
As far as retics go, as i said, Steve irwin's is number one.

I saw a documentry on condas and they found and killed because it ate a 10 year old kid that was swiming in the river. I don't remeber how big or heavy it was but it has to be big to eat a 10 year old kid.

There was a retic found in India somewhere that was supposedly 49 ft and weighed in the neighborhood of 920lbs. The was an article on MSN about it with some pictures. It looked absolutely huge.
If you go to google.ca and run a search for worlds largest snake the web site with the article should come up. Check it out.

it was found to only be 21'. Impressive? yes, but a far cry frome the record set by the late samantha.

That's right. It was just a big fish story to attract turists or so.
It surprises me that Samantha was considered the biggest retic in captivity. When i compare her pics with Steve Irwin's retic i get the feeling that the last one is much bigger.

Well, i don't know but WORM (that's the name of the python) looks quite bigger than that.

I hope they still have that video running, where a lot of guys are trying to catch worm. Try "Pythons in action"...
As for Samantha, i could believe 25'-26' but 33' is not possible. In fact, only one retic was found that was that long and that was in 1912.

Bartman .. That retic at reptilia is now where even close to 150 pounds.. I saw it recently and it was about 14 feet.. still impressive but not that big..
For me .. Hunter .. one of the retic at our zoo - 200 pounds officially .. a bit over 18 feet and puppy tame..
Second My rock at 70 pounds .. crazy nasty and impressive .. nothing compares to a rock ..
