Normal colors?

Are all these black spots he got this morning normal?
Yesterday he was bright green, i fed him today and he looked fine..do these spots mean he's stressed or someting...sorry im a newb to chams lol

Are their colors that show stress in chams?

Yep, those colors would indicate that he's stressed. Basically any dark colors that are not usually on him indicate he's stressed. My veiled used to do this some times when I took her out for handling, and when she started doing it, I knew she had had enough so I put her back in the cage... but she never did it inside the cage.

I am not an active cham keeper, but here are some of my thoughts.

As I see it, many species and some individuals seem to get stressed easier than others. If I ever came about to collect them, I would ensure that I had a lot of foliage for them to hide in along with using screening that blocked a lot of the outside light and disturbances from showing. It is what I use on my Iggy cage. This just seems to be a good way at going at it to me at least.

I do not doubt your a good reptile keeper, as your posts seem to reflect your doing a great job with what you collect, so no bashing from me. It may be your cham is just stressed from from his/her new environment, so some adjusting is needed for it. Sure ya now that. But cool lil' lizard none the less. Good luck with em fella.

Yeah I'd agree with Meow!!! He is staring directly at that silkworm and looking angry!

Sometimes Gus would get pissed if we introduced new food or let prey climb on their own towards him.

No he was black before i put it in, then i tried to let him get happy with some food

Um, i think i would put my life on it that thats a veiled chameleon, lol, but yea.

Im building him a new fully screened enclosure today, will be finished in probably 2 or 3 days. I also got him a much better plant that is more supportive for an aboreal species, i think the one i had was not very strong. This new one is more sticks with lots of leaves.

I moved him to this plant and i noticed a lot of his spots went away! So i think the plant is what he didnt like. Also now i have him in an aquarium with glass, so maybe he see's himself..ive heard that stresses them a lot...ill be making some more changes this week and wont handle him for about 2 weeks to let him get used to things. I think being at the show and comming home really stressed him out.

Oh lol, i didnt even konw when i bought it, but the plant i got is a ficus. I bought it on the look because i saw one that was exactly the same in other chameleon tanks...so i got him a ficus today...thats what the person who sold it to me suggested..thats good right?

I love flap-necks for that reason. I love those dots. Unfortunately, they are a sign of discomfort or alertness in Veileds (usually). I agree with everybody else, I think that silkworm is kind of stressing im out. Also, how long have you had him?
