need help please!

i am having a problem with my BRB enclosures and mold growing on the walls. Humidity is 80%, warm side is 88-90, cool side is 77-79, and i have an automatic misting system that mists every hour. Is there anything i can do to stop this from happening?

SMEAGEL:

Photos would be good to get a better idea in the full set up.

But the mister is not needed for 1, have a water bowl of good size for boa to soak if it wants to. Add a humidty box or tub, get a tub same size as mentioned for soak, keep the lid on it and drill or cut a round hole on top slightly bigger than the girth of the boa after a feed. Place in that tub spagnam moss or moist papertowels or mulch, just about anything that holds moisture well.

You create 3 environments for that rainbow in that full cage. Water bowl being the wetest, cage over all being the dryest and the humidty box the middle range of both environments. Your boa will choose them all on its own comfort and other than checking on the humidty box 2 - 3 times a week for some misting you should be fine after.

Also does your cage have enough ventilation on at least 2 levels and zones on the cage, meaning on right side of cage are there vents say like at ground level and on the left side in reverse at the upper side. This creates somewhat of a cyclon environment and high humidty boids, all boids actually love this. This process will not let your cage mold up, and like I said before the mister has to be removed or turned off.

My 2 cents...

Cya...

Tony
