My uros will behave like this when exposed to natural sunlight. They become a little aggressive hissing and whipping their tail when I approach normally they are quite docile. During the hot summer days I put them outside sometimes for a couple of hours.
Your uro may have been directing his aggressive behavior tword you and not the rock. Another possibility is if he's a male perhaps he saw his reflection somewhere, maybe he was having a territorial stand-off with himself!!LOL
