Where the Ducks walk on the Fish? *video*

Greetings,
Okay, so I was in Linesville, PA last summer at the spillway at Pymatuning Reservoir (just passing through). I don't know if anyone is familiar with this freakish spectacle of nature; however, I assume most people have not had the pleasure.
Basically, thousands of these giant carp collect at the base of the spillway (it almost seems that there is more carp than water, mass for mass). Anyway, the fish are so densely packed together (waiting for bread from all the tourists, a biologist's nightmare) that the foul can actually walk over the fish as if they are on solid ground. Hence the town's slogan, "Linesville, PA: Where the ducks walk on the fish."
Of course, I shot a small video so if you are intrigued, feel free to right-click the link and save the small file (1.5mb) to your hard-drive.
Enjoy!
Cheers,
Ryan

Yup, they're Koi! I know the bridge very well, the one that leads to the Mighty Canadian MineBuster, the Stand-up and Splashworks....
Oh yeah, Season's Pass ten years running.... Gotta retain my youth somehow....

It's an .asf file, perhaps the file is unrecognizable in the media player you are using. A tradeoff so I could get the file so small. It works for most applications, Windows Media Player is what most people use and it will play in it.

Do the fish gather there yearly??? Do they go just because they know they are getting fed, or is there another reason their there (for example, mating)???

It's a spillway so I think the main factor is water flow, they are kind of stuck there. I would imagine they are there yearly, I can't see a way out for them. The population is certainly thriving because of the food, so that must be why they are there. Mating must take place there too.

Guess you had to be there..... first time I have seen ducks walking on submerged fish (granted I couldn't catch it on video). It was a spectacle that I considered freakish, and of course, it occuring in 'nature' brings us around to the phrase in question
