African house snakes... STILL copulating?

Last night, around 10:00 PM, I discovered that my african house snakes were copulating. I just checked on them this morning at 8:00 AM and they are still mating.

I've read articles saying they can breed for over an hour but is this normal?

These are the first shot at breeding any species of reptile and Im just a little bit nervous. lol

10 hours just seems like a looooog time...

Sean, when you get eggs out of yours, how about teaching me how to breed the damn things.
I have two pair, that are almost 3 years old and 3 and a half feet long.
They mate whenever I put them together, but I haven't got a single egg yet. Its getting personal now.
These are supposed to be the most prolific snakes on the planet??LOL

Haha. That must be frustrating! I really hope I do get some eggs from them. This is the females first time breeding (and possibly the males) so I have my fingers crossed. Are you attempting to breed them this year aswell?

Roy the first time i bred house snakes i had the same problem, only to find out that i had two males. LOL

Shawn is that the female you got from me ?? Also if they were succesful, expect eggs in about 75 days give or take.
Mine hatch after 75-78 days incubated @ 79-82^

Try packing the mice on the female, like 1 every 3 days or so. I've heard that can be the problem, AHS' want to eat like mad, and won't produce much if they don't.
