Night Temps

I apologize for the double post but for some reason this post, which I originally posted in the colubrid forum did not cross post to the "new posts" area.

I'm just wondering - do you usually keep the same temps 24/7, or do you turn the heat off at night? I saw something somewhere (not sure if it was another thread or a care sheet or where it was now) that talked about turning the UTH off at night and it got me thinking that in the wild, temps do fluctuate a lot between day and night so perhaps it would more closely match the natural environment to turn the temps off at night. But I was just wondering what others are doing???

I'm by no means saying whether you should or should'nt, but I keep various species of pythons, boas and skinks and a few other odds and sods at about 80-82F during the day (much hotter basking spot for the skinks) and the whole room drops to the low 70's at night. Works for me. I'm not a big fan of thermometers, these temps are taken from random checks. I'm sure the temperatures fluctuate, especially on colder nights like we've been having lately.

For my balls, they get 94 deg. for 7-8 months, 24/7. For cooling, I drop the temp. to 74 for 12 hours a day, and 94 for the rest.
