the members of CARCNet are mostly professionals in the field of herpetology, but I cannot say that they are the main contributors to the field data on herp sp.
A great online herp distribution map can be found through the MNR website. It is known as the Ontario Herpetofaunal Atlas (OHS) and is the most official and accurate distribution map I know of for the Ontario range.
