Any thoughts on how to mount a basking light?

First off, let me start by saying I am in no way handy around the house - so if the answer to my question is an obvious one, please forgive me.

I plan to purchase a 75 gallon aquarium to house a Uromastyx lizard in. I want to use a screen top. Problem is, I don't like the look of just sitting dome light fixtures on the top of the screen and then having to remove them everytime I need to get in the cage. So, I'm wondering if there is any way to mount a basking light fixture w/ light on the inside of the tank near the top on one end so it's out of reach of the Uro (keep in mind it's glass)?

Any ideas would be appreciated as I'm not very handy around the house and have no idea if this is even possible.

I'm assuming that they are mounted on the outside of the enclosure to prevent whatever's inside from coming in contact with the light and burning themselves. Problem is, if it's in the tank, it's a possible hazard. I wouldn't recommend it.

If you have to mount it in the tank oceanic tanks have a fixture that is supposed to be used with their tanks but it could be modified to hang in the inclosure. You would have to cut a small opening in the screen as it attaches on both sides but is very effective and plugs rite into any outlet as well. If you are not against cutting a little hole in the screen this is a good solution.

i suspended mine with tie raps. Works just fine. Just make sure the reptiles can't get to the bulb.

It depends on what you are housing in it and how much distance there is between the light and animal. If it was a snake, then there may be cause for concern, but most lizards, turtles/torties, and amphibians (excluding glass-climbers) can safely be housed with interior mounted basking lights. LOL... I know my tortoise for one will never come close to his

I read further up that you are building a lid for this setup out of wood. If you incorporate a screen into this lid you can mount the lamp behind this and to the wood. So tank with mesh lid and wood lid over this.

you can get those super suction cup things that hold bowling balls and crap.

To mount the light you can glue in supports for a closet hanger rod and suspend the light from this. Then you won't have to mess with the light at all when opening the cage.
