Iam in Toronto as well, and trying to breed my trio, as well as recieving another pair (Different locality) very soon.
Just be advised, this species gets large, needs ALOT of food (rodents, insects, turkey diets, snails etc) And when eating that much they require alot of heat. Basking spots --130 degrees.
Keep them on lots of dirt, that can adequatly hold a burrow, make sure the dirt stays at a decent temp or its useless to the monitor, just because it can burrow in it, doesnt mean its good if the monitor is cold in its burrow.
