How long

How long does it take for a gtp to complete ontogenesis?
I know it varies but I was just curious.

Some change pretty much overnight (mine did!), and some can take up to a couple of years... not very helpful, I know. LOL...

Most are done between 1-2 years. Although, biaks usually take a lot longer. About 2.5-3 years!

My boyfriend keeps GTPs, he's got one that is a year and half old and has already turned green from yellow, and she is developing more and more white all the time now. He's got another that's the same age and is just starting to get out of her red baby color. GTPs are weird! They will vary so much based on what "locality" or mix you have... Then full maturity for breeding depends more on weight than age.

6 months isn't the average. 6 months is the MINIMUM. That's why I said 6 months to never. Meaning: They can take as little as 6 months, but they can also not change at all. I never stated any average and I hazard that no one on this board has enough GTP experience that I would trust what their "average" would be.

LOL you get so fustrated sometimes Jeff.

I understand what your saying. Could take 6 months could take longer could never finish.

I'm not impatient any more. I'm just wondering what this little nipper has in store.
