On CNN right now... anti-snake reporting

Hey folks,

Just saw a report on CNN Headline News regarding a couple in the states who have come under fire from their neighbors regarding their snake rescue operation. Very biased reporting from people who obviously have an unfounded 'fear' of 'big snakes'... cut to the neighbors holding some toy breed of dog saying 'I just can't imagine anyone wanting to buy my home now because of these snakes'... blah blah blah

It's a shame that these people with their unfounded fears have the only opinion that's being voiced.

Needless to say... I'll be writing CNN Headline News.

Just thought ya'll like to know... the report should be on once an hour... that's usually how they do it.

CNN post... concerning snakes...

My post to CNN...
---------------------------

I was utterly disapointed at your biased reporting on Headline News regarding the snake rescue operation.

It's a shame that people have this unnatural, unfounded 'fear' of reptiles. Herpatologists have tried educating people in hopes of going beyond this illogical fear caused by the likes of the motion picture industry, mainstream religion and other propagandists seeking to demonize a particular species and/or genus of animals.

You could have at LEAST showed more than one perspective in the report... snakes smelling like 'death'?

Why do people fear nature? Because of biased reporting, and the constant perpetuation of lies.

For reptile keepers everywhere... thanks a lot.

Education...

Thanks Jeff,

It just grates my nerves ya know?...

We're thinking of forming a Herp. society here in our county... and doing some eductational things at the school with our herps...

Education and personal exposure seem to be the only weapons against ignorance.

Way to go Jon

Unfortunately, snakes are an all to common target for the sensationalizing of the news.

sorry and sad situation worldwide but slowly getting better due to *gasp* these nuts on Discovery, Animal Planet, and others that show snakes in a bit better light (even with stupid handling examples.

discovery channel

their 'the big squeeze' was kind of irritating...

that and the croc hunter movie seems to focus on some 'sinister' aspect to reptiles... also irritating...

and i won't even go into the pet 'psychic'

geez...

Thanks for the comments though guys & gals... I just wish CNN would listen as well...
