4-6'? LMAO Yeah Right. BCC's grow slower than BCI's do, but they grow larger. With proper caging and husbandry a male can reach 8-10' depending on locality Females can be 9-14'. 14' is very very rare but they can. It just takes them longer to get to that size.

ive seen 8+foot males, but i dont think it happens very often.
it will usually be the females getting that big.
a well fed male should get to be around 5-7 feet when fully grown.
my female is a little over 2 1/2 years old and she is already a little over 6 feet.

You guys shouldn't assume that by BCI he means Columbian Redtail. Remember, Hog Island boas, Central American Boas, and many other locales ARE BCI, and will only get 4' - 6'.

Originally it was BCC thats the reason for my response. BCIs have a pretty broad range. Hoggs generally stay in the 5-6' range. I have seen a few large CA Boas in the 7-8' range usually around 6' though , bepends on the locality. All my adult BCI's are 7-8.5' My friend has a female thats 9.5' and 65 pounds and she is a BCI
So Unless your buying a Hogg Island Boa, it would very safe to assume your in for a 7' snake. Also if anyone tells you to keep it in a smaller cage and feed it less so it doesn't grow as large, Please do me a favor... Take a bat and take out his kneecaps for me.

I'd love to say that I love that myth, but I don't. That's why so many burms end up in rescues.
Yeah, like Ed_R said. You're in for at least a 7 footer, unless one of its parents were dwarfed. 8-9 feet for a male is not unheard of. My male BCI is the product of a 7' male and a 10' or so female. They aren't tiny, that's for sure!

ya thats true. I had a burm but the cage we were going to build dident end up working into our basement when we had it finished. so I had to sell her. I would like a lager snake still and 6-9 feet would be fine so thats how I ended up wanting a BCI.

But at least they are asking instead of just cramming a baby giant in to a 10 gallon and expecting it to stay that way! It's unfortunate that so many people are being misled
